Happy Pi Day everyone. Pi () is the symbol for the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter. Regardless of the dimensions, the number is always 3.1415926535…. Pi is an irrational and transcendental number so it goes on forever The number is usually shortened to 3.14. Because of this, Pi Day is celebrated on March 14th with, of course, pies. In 2009, the United States House of Representatives supported the designation of Pi Day. With the help of computers, Pi has been calculated to over 1 trillion digits.
