Zombies, Run! Game Released on iOS [VID]

March 2, 2012 Leave a comment

Zombies, Run! is a exercise/audio adventure game. The game creates a rout based on your location. It gives you destinations to “pick up” supplies and return to your “base”. While collecting supplies, there are zombies that you must run from. The game has been in development for a few months and it has finally been released on iOS. It runs on iPhone, iPod and the iPad. The game will be released for Android later this spring. Remember, Rule #1: Cardio. The fatties die first.

Untethered Jailbreak For iOS 5 Now Available

December 27, 2011 1 comment

Finally! An untethered jailbreak is available for iOS 5.0.1 devices. The jailbreak is available ONLY for iOS devices that do NOT have an A5 chip. This means any device but an iPad 2 or an iPhone 4S. There will be serious problems if a jailbreak is attempted on these devices. Adam Dachis from Lifehacker shows you the process. The process is the same for previous Redsnow jailbreaks. It’s not hard to do and a jailbreak adds even more functionality to your iOS device. Make sure to back up first. If anything goes wrong (highly unlikely) then just restore from this backup. If you have an iOS device then it’s worth a shot. I have been waiting for this for a long time.

Upgrade to iOS 5 Now

October 7, 2011 Leave a comment

Apple isn’t officially releasing iOS 5 until October 12 but you can upgrade your iDevice now. Apple released the Gold Master version of the OS to developers. This version is not much different than what will be officially released. Because of this, even non-developers can dowload the software, restore and have iOS 5 now.

Make a Backup

First off, make a backup. The process of restoring will wipe your device anyway. It’s also good to have a backup in the rare case that something goes wrong. A backup can be made by syncing your iDevice or right clicking it in the iTunes sidebar and selecting Back Up.

Download the Appropriate Software

Download the software depending on your device. Do NOT forget to download iTunes Beta 7. The process won’t work with any other version of iTunes.

Download iOS 5 GM for iPhone 4 (GSM)
Download iOS 5 GM for iPhone 4 (CDMA)
Download iOS 5 GM for iPhone 3GS
Download iOS 5 GM for iPad 2 (Wi-Fi)
Download iOS 5 GM for iPad Wi-Fi + 3G (GSM)
Download iOS 5 GM for iPad Wi-Fi + 3G (CDMA)
Download iOS 5 GM for iPad 1
Download iOS 5 GM for iPod touch 4G
Download iOS 5 GM for iPod touch 3G

Download iTunes 10 Beta 7

If you are a Windows user, you will need a program like 7-zip in order to unzip the dmg file. Then unzip the hfs file called 2. The IPSW file will be in there.

Restore in iTunes

Next, plug in your device. It should still be plugged in from making a back up. Go to the main settings for device and you will see a button that says Restore. Hold down Option on a Mac or Shift on a PC and click the Restore button. Navigate to the folder where the IPSW file is located and select the file.

The installation process will begin. After that, you’ll be walked through iOS 5’s setup. From there, you can restore your backup you made earlier. Keep in mind that iOS 5 is jailbreakable through Redsnow . It is a tethered jailbreak meaning if you reboot the device you will need to jailbreak again.

Siri, The New Personal ASSistant

October 5, 2011 1 comment

Really Apple? You’re going to name something Siri and not even check to see if it sounds like something else in another language? Siri sounds a lot like shiri, ass in Japanese. When searched for, Google Japan will autocorrect Siri to shiri. I’m sure plenty of otaku are meaning to search for shiri hentai but what about children that are searching for Apple’s latest feature? Will someone think of the children? Then again it was probably a Japanese child who came up with the name Siri in the first place. Good on ya, kid.

Update: Siri is also the Georgian word for “cock”. Not a rooster either.
